Woodland Tales Stay and Play Group offers under 5's and their parents and carers the opportunity to come along to our little woodland, just outside of Hingham to play, socialise, and make friends.
We hope the group will provide a warm, welcoming environment, where the busyness of life can be left at the gates in exchange for 1.5 hours of child-led exploration of the woodland and its treasures.
Our sessions will be themed each week, but the site will feature areas such as fairy gardens, mud kitchen, veg plots and wheelbarrows to name a few, which can be revisited week after week should your child wish!
We are so lucky to also have a large log cabin on site with a log burner, kitchen area and changing/toilet room, providing much needed shelter for indoor play and warmth during poorer weather. (We hope to also host separate craft events in here too!).
Please get in touch via our website, or email amy@woodlandtales.co.uk to register your interest in attending
.
Woodland Tales Stay and Play Group is run by Amy Dunnett, a qualified primary school teacher and Level 3 forest school leader.
Amy is passionate about nature and the great outdoors, and a keen crafter in her spare time!
We're looking for volunteers to assist / support the group, so if you think you might be able to help please get in touch!
The Stay and Play Group sessions will have a forest school ethos, taking place throughout the year, providing children with opportunities to pursue their own individual interests through play and exploration, allowing for age appropriate risk taking and encouraging the holistic (all round) development of each child.
The benefits of being in nature as a baby, toddler, child and adult are huge and increasingly well documented (will put some links on a separate page for those interested in reading!). We hope our sessions will benefit all who attend and help grow conscientious young people who will care for our planet and each other as they journey through life.
Come prepared for the season and its possible weather - waterproofs, wellies, spare clothes, hats, gloves (lots of layers!) for autumn - spring.
In summer suncream, and no open toe shoes due to the uneven woodland ground and rouge nettles and brambles!
